‘Iphupha alifi umnikazi esaphila,’ K.O vows to help kids achieve their dreams

by Silindokuhle Booi

Ntokozo Mdluli, also known as K.O, a veteran South African rapper, has been making waves with his latest hit single, Pharadise, featuring Young Stunna.

The song has been well-received by fans, who have praised its catchy beat and lyrics that celebrate the hustle and determination of everyday people.

According to K.O, the song is part of his efforts to inspire and uplift his community, and he believes that music can be a powerful tool for empowerment.

Beyond his music, K.O is passionate about giving back to his community and helping young people achieve their goals. He recently expressed his enthusiasm for Fibretime, an initiative that aims to provide internet access to underprivileged areas.

K.O believes that this kind of access can level the playing field and give young people the opportunities they need to succeed. “The perfect balance to me is attaining fame based on you doing something great,” he said.

“How about we make it easy for kids to be able to do it, and at least accomplish some of these things that I am talking about right in their backyard?” he added.

K.O’s commitment to community development is driven by his desire to see young people thrive. He sees initiatives like Fibretime as a way to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation. “They are bringing the portal to your house; all you need is to know what you want, and the world is your oyster,” he said.

As K.O continues to work on his upcoming album, Phara City, set to drop in June 2025, he remains focused on his goal of putting mzansi hip-hop back at the top of the local music scene. With Pharadise already gaining traction, fans are eagerly anticipating the new album, which promises to be a game-changer in the South African music industry.

K.O’s dedication to his craft and his community is evident in his music and his initiatives, and he continues to inspire a new generation of artists and fans alike.
