This or That? X users compare new Era bags to cheap Shein bags

Renowned South African DJ, producer, and businesswoman Ntombezinhle Mohosana, popularly known as DJ Zinhle, has recently been criticised by social users for her latest venture of selling high-priced bags through her famous jewelry line, Era.

The accessory brand has been in the market for past last ten years offering a wide range of accessories. The deejay has expanded her brand by introducing designer bags to the Era family. While some of her fans love this this move, many have expressed their disappointment and over the high cost of these bags, leading to a heated debate on social media platforms.

An X (formerly Twitter) user posted images of the bags that seem alike, adding that the businesswoman is trying to scam people by pricing her bags at a higher price.

As seen in the images below, the bag is from SHEIN, a famous Chinese brand that sells fashion and household products at low prices. In contrast, the Era bag is an identical replica, but the only difference is the logo on the bag.

The creator who posted these two images alongside one another adds that he was only trying to make potential customers of the cheaper version of the bag and not allow themselves to be scammed.

I’m just plugging my girlies who don’t have R750 to spend for that Era logo please ?

Another X user cited that customers are essentially paying for the branding more than anything else.

They were not lying when they said we are paying for the “NAME” not the item overall ?
