Numbers were not the only thing the late former finance minister and SARB governor, Tito Mboweni was known for, as his interesting cuisines drew most internet users to fall in love with him.

Tito Mboweni recently passed away after suffering a short illness, and internet users and members of parliament mourn his death. Renowned food brand Lucky Star gifts funeral patrons with tin fish, which left many internet users puzzled given the amount of unemployment rate and homeless people in the country.

Despite, the company’s recent good deed as Tito was known to cook using their products, internet users felt it was useless for them to gift people who already have money with tin fish, as in some households it has become a staple meal.

Many X (formerly known as Twitter) users commented that Lucky Star was using this as a way to market their brand, with some feeling that it was a great way to honour Tito Mboweni.

There’s no gesture ya nix mo, they are now using Tito Mboweni’s death to advertise their fucked up product that causes body rash.

These people have no shame at all, they never gave him one Tin fish when he was alive all of a sudden he was their unofficial brand ambassador.

Nonsense. Cheap marketing strategy. They could have at least produced limited cans with Tito Mboweni’s name as a kind gesture. pic.twitter.com/LWXs6YI4kf

They must have consulted with the family first. I noticed that Mboweni family is an open family. Even by allowing the community to view his body was an unprecedented gesture.

May his soul rest in eternal peace ?️
