Internet shocked to see Mohale Motaung’s name on the DSAC beneficiary list

It seems that the list that was published with the names of the people who benefited from funds from the Department of Sports Arts and Culture includes people that many aren’t even sure what their contribution to Mzansi’s sports, arts, and culture is.

Mohale Motaung, who rose into popularity after dating and marrying flamboyant media personality Somizi Mhlongo, left many internet users in shock after it came to light that he received a total of R75k from the department via his company Glam Troupe.

The amounts which were classified as “COVID relief funds” ranged from R10k to hundreds of thousands.

While big artists such as singer Zandile Khumalo received R20k, Mohale’s R75k amount did not sit well with many.

Mohale’s company, Glam Troupe, was created to specialise in matric dance makeovers, graduations, and styling.

Many X (former Twitter) users shared the news on their feed, including @sanalenkosix.

The news was shared by many other social media users on X.

@mohale_motaung was named in NSFAS scandals and now he’s one of the beneficiaries of the sports, arts and culture department?? Ai sisi ai amahloni?

One user asked:

Why did Mohale get R75k while the majority received between R10k and R20k?

More users shared:

This man ran away from marriage because he could not perform his conjugal rights… ? ? ?

Is he an artist? Only know him as Somizi’s ex. I guess him dating Somizi qualified him as an artist
