Internet reveals Shebeshxt’s meltdown reason

by Silindokuhle Booi

As internet users took to social media to express their outrage over Limpopo-born artist Shebeshxt’s aggressive behaviour, prominent figures such as Mbuyiseni Dlozi joined the calls for the artist’s cancellation.

For those who may not have seen the video, the Ambulance hitmaker was shown confronting a fan in a nightclub, threatening to stab him with a large knife after engaging in a heated argument.

Despite some efforts to explain Shebe’s actions, one social media user alleged that the fan had been disrespecting his baby mama; many remained unconvinced that this justified his violence. Internet users insisted that

The post read: “I know it doesn’t matter, but this happened in a hood I have friends in. That guy spoke badly about Shebe’s baby mama, and even after warning him, he still pursued her. I’m not standing up for Shebe, but yhooo people always test him.”

In response to the public outcry over a knife altercation that quickly went viral, rapper Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke has released a statement through his lawyer, Lot Ramusi, seeking to clarify the situation.

Despite initial reports claiming that the Ambulance hitmaker was provoked by love-related tensions, Lot asserts that the video is, in fact, old footage from a skit for a music video.

“He didn’t hurt anyone that day, and that was not even a real knife. Unfortunately, members of the public took it otherwise,” said Lot. According to Shebeshxt, the purported victim in the video was actually a friend, and the knife used was merely a prop.
