How much would you pay to live in a place of comfort? For one student from the University of Stellenbosch, it appears that money is not a factor.

This comes after the internet found themselves in a frenzy after one of the university students, @roxannecarmchael, took to their social media platform, TikTok, to offer followers a tour guide of her Stellenbosch residential flat.

The video, which was shared and recorded by content creator @dixoncapetown, shows the beautiful, elevated apartment showcasing the most amazing views that comes with living in the popular student town, however, it was not until she revealed the price of the place that followers were stunned.

For those wondering, it costs a whopping R11,500 per month.

The apartment includes an open-plan kitchen that seamlessly connects to the living space, an en suite bathroom as well as three separate bedrooms. In the video, Roxanne reveals that she is not the only one living at the venue, instead, she shares the space with two others who also pay R11,500.

Touching on the experience, she revealed that even though she has only been residing at the residential apartment for a few months, she is definitely enjoying it.

Taking to the comment section, those following the account expressed their shock.

“R11,5k a month? That’s a bond on a house,” one user stated.

While another wrote: “R11.5k and she still has to share the space with two other people!? [crying emoji].”

A third added: “Bro, I pay R12k a month on my 3-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Gordon’s Bay.”

However, not everyone was shocked by the price, many felt that it was extremely reasonable.

@Kamohelo wrote: “My mom pays about R35k rent in Stellenbosch for two bedrooms. We can’t really afford to buy at house at the moment. This is the cheapest we got. I think the R11k is fine.”
