Internet reacts to Mthandeni SK’s Maskandi version of the national anthem

South Africa is known to be one of the countries that allows people to live their lives the way they want to as long no one gets hurt along the way. We are known to be able to turn any situation into a laughing matter now matter how serious it is, that is our copying mechanism.

Recently, the political parties hosted their manifestos where many artists got to perform and show case their talents. During the African National Congress’s (ANC), political party that is currently ruling, manifesto a Maskandi artist, Mthandeni SK was given a chance to perform the national anthem, but he did a Maskandi version of it.

Social media users shared their thoughts as they found the video entertaining:

“Umona phansi this man is very creative kant injalo nje iyazethemba yingakho iphumelela kalula nasempilweni (Jealous down this man is creative, he also believes in himself that is why it’s easy for him to succeed).”

Another user jokingly wrote,”ayiphelele le vidiyo sifuna landawo ye afrikans ne english (This is not the entire video, we want to hear the Afrikaans and English part).”

Another one said: “Nine sure ukuthii ngeke unibulale umona[laughing emojis] cause mina Ngizwa njer acula kahler umthandeni lana Notes ulibambile yikuph ukubhimba lana (Are you guys sure that jealousy won’t kill you? because all I hear is Mthandeni singing nice with the correct notes).”
