The divorce rumours involving Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and his wife Mantwa Matlala have caused a stir among internet users.
This comes after the controversial blogger and self-proclaimed Pope of pop culture, Musa Khawula, broke the news on his X (formerly Twitter) page. He cited that Mantwa divorced Julius because of infidelity.

Taking to his X page, he said, “Julius Malema’s marriage is over as his wife Mantwa Matlala files for divorce. Julius Malema and Mantwa Matlala got married in December 2014, and she could only tolerate so much of his cheating and decided to end their stressful marriage”.

Another X user with a username @BafanaSurprise confirmed Musa’s story, revealing that the Malemas separated in 2024, and Mantwa was urged to keep things a secret because they were still working on their marriage.
Bafana alleged that the couple is in the process of divorce because Julius was cheating and there are rumours that he was physically abusing his wife. He further stated that Julius reportedly has a child outside of his marriage, with a side chick.
Apparently Mantwa Matlala and Julius Malema separated in 2024, she was urged to keep things as a secret, since they were trying everything in their power to fix their marriage.
