It hasn’t been long since Nigerian superstar Davido, real name David Adedeji Adeleke, caused a social media frenzy when videos of his luxury cars convoy in Cape Town circulated on social media after he landed at Cape Town International Airport.

The multi-award-winning singing sensation, who is never seen without an entourage, was later seen with heavily armed security guards while still on vacation.

Making its way onto social media, a picture of the Fall hitmaker with five security guards, two carrying riffles similar to the AK47 circulated on X (formerly known as Twitter), gaining mixed emotions from social media users.

Davido is not only a multi-millionaire singer but also comes from a very wealthy family, which might also be why his security was tightened.

Shared on X by the account Thibo Talk, Davido’s photo gained over a million views.

Upon seeing the post, internet users shared different sentiments, with some expressing that the singer was dramatic, while others said there was a need for security for artists.

This a bit extreme though! Is this a war zone, unless I’m missing something..

One user shared that the heavily armed security guards did not create an impression of a vacation, commenting:

It doesn’t look like a peaceful vacation, isn’t it 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧

Indeed, there’s more to life than this unnecessary stress of protecting yourself from ghost 👻 pic.twitter.com/IpONocEu6P

Another user reminded others of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’ shooting, adding that Davido, we were not ready to lose the Unavailable hitmaker.

We literally watched AKA get shot in the head. We not losing davido too lmao needs all the security possible plz. 😂😂

Another shared that security guards can also rob the person they are meant to protect, making reference to businesswoman and media mogul Kim Kardashian’s robbery incident that occurred in Paris in 2016.

Celebrities can be robbed by the same guards, ask Kim Kardashian
