The South African national soccer team known as Bafana Bafana loses the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final game by 4-2 on penalties.

Many South Africans took to social media to share their thoughts on the game.

As heartbreaking as it may be for SA, many people remain proud of the boys as it has been a long time since they have had so much faith in the team.

Media personality Tumi Morale shared a picture of the team expressing how proud she is of the team for fighting a good fight.

She wrote, ” SO proud of y’all! Contending with history. Your tenacity, your spirit, ALLL the cardio work you put us through!”

“I believe you broke a very long curse and brought us back. It’s onwards and upwards from here,” she added.

She concluded her post by thanking the team, ” THANK YOU!!!!!!! What a ride! We’ll be there when you go back for that cup [heart emoji].”
