Internet not moved by Pearl Thusi reality show

by Sergio Miller

Pearl Thusi’s highly anticipated reality series The Real Black Pearl is officially in full swing, but not everyone is impressed.

Media personality Pearl Thusi has been dabbling her feet in multiple exciting ventures in recent months, from podcasting, and DJing, to her soon-to-be comedy roast and recently she has also released her highly anticipated reality series, The Real Black Pearl.

The first episode of the show premiered on Saturday 9 November on BET.

In a previous statement, Pearl highlighted that the show aimed to provide fans with an up close and personal view into her life and who she is away from the glitz and glam

“I want my fans to see that behind the headlines and trending topics, I am just like anyone else on a journey to be my best self; navigating the challenges and joys that unite us all. The Real Black Pearl isn’t just my story—it’s a story about growth, authenticity and finding your truth, and I hope it inspires others to embrace their own paths.”

But with two episodes already being aired, viewers have expressed their disappointment at the content being aired.

This comes after X (formerly Twitter) blogger Musa Khawula shared the trailer of the show on his X account.

Following his post, many have taken to the comment section highlighting that with two episodes in, they feel that the show lacks depth and felt that this made it boring.

One person commented:

If they don’t show her taking substance I can’t mention then there is no reality on this show

Meanwhile, another added:

Respectfully it’s giving nothing and I’ve watched both episodes ??

It’s boring , hopefully it’ll pick up but for now yawn fest , I’ve been using it as background noise.

With many more episodes still to be aired, there might be an opportunity for the opinions of the viewers to change.
