Ever since her rise to international stardom, the South African pop star Tyla has done a perfect job in representing her taking her African roots on the global stage.

This is something that gained her lots of love and favour from her local fan base with many applauding her for sticking to her accent, carrying a sack of maize meal inside of her bag and taking every effort to share some of her most loved stories of growing up in South Africa with her international fans.

The singer recently had many bursting with pride after releasing the highly anticipated music video to her new hit song Jump.

Shot in Johannesburg, the scene embraced her heritage while showcasing the most authentic version of South Africa.

Taking to the comment section on YouTube, many praise the singer for being unashamed.

“I love the how Tyla always finds a way to incorporate her home into her art. She will always be a pretty girl from Joburg,” wrote one subscriber.

“The first artist in our generation to actually export South African culture… We need to protect her,” wrote another.

Included in the video was also snippets of some of the local’s most loved snacks which included what appears to be a Pin Pop lollipop, Apple Munch refresher, as well as the Go – Slo’s chips all of which are popular favourites in local townships and working-class communities.

However, following the release of the video in which Tyla endorses the Go-Slo’s, many took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their concerns for the sudden increase in prices, since the chips now gained popularity.

These are what some had to say:
