Kaizer Chiefs fans were left in tears when their team were recently knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by an upcoming team, Milford FC.

The Premier Soccer League giants and Milford FC, a team in the first division of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, battled it out at Johannesburg’s FNB stadium where the underdogs punished Amakhosi 5-4 in penalties.

Some of the Kaizer Chiefs fans shared on Metro FM’s Best Breakfast show that they were ready to leave their team, as the Soweto boys last won a major title in May 2015, making this the ninth year of drought.

Others took to social media platforms to express their frustration, with some mocking the Naturena boys.

On X, previously known as Twitter, internet users commented:

Others advised the fans not to support the teams, commenting:

My own is don’t attend all Kaizer Chiefs remaining matches home or away. Stop buying their products, the power is in your pocket.
If possible don’t watch their matches on TV, let the ratings of their matches decline.

Others shared jokes about the situation:

This team that won against Kaizer Chiefs tomorrow their players are going back to work at Shoprite some are going to school to attend classes

Some went as far as comparing Chiefs to the Mamelodi Sundowns women’s team, commenting:

I repeat , Mamelodi Sundowns ladies can beat Kaizer Chiefs ? pic.twitter.com/Dhlqsu5sW8
