Internet celebrates Bafana Bafana’s win

It is that time again for South Africans. The energy, love, and happiness that come with sports competitions are out of this world.

The South African national soccer team popularly known as Bafana Bafana beat Morocco yesterday during the Africa Cup of Nations – AFCON- football competition. Sailing to the quarterfinals by a 2-0 win.

Post-match, to celebrate the triumph South Africans flooded social media platforms with celebratory posts. Under a post shared by SuperSport Football on Facebook where they congratulated the team, one social media user wrote:

“The South Africans fascinated us with the beautiful games they just played, they played dominated and won in the most beautiful way, congratulations to them, and good luck to our Moroccan brothers.”

Another user said that there is now hope and a drive, “Well done Bafana Bafana. Now, if there is ever a time, a belief, a dream, a hope, a determination, a drive, a goal, and a scent for the finishing line, it is now. Let’s go all out, impossible is nothing, Come on Bafana. Go for gold.”

Cape Town-based songwriter and rapper Bravo Le Roux also took to his Instagram page to share a video of the moment, he wrote:

“Enkosi, majita [Thank you guys].”

Another social media user wrote, “Take a bow, BAFANA BAFANA!!! South Africa’s starting 11 against Morocco had 9 players playing for South African clubs. Out of the 9 playing for South African clubs, 8 play for Mamelodi Sundowns (Zwane, Morena, Mokoena, Modiba, Mvala, Kekana, Mudau, and Williams).”
