‘I leave with a heart full of gratitude,’- Chidimma withdraws from Miss SA competition

by Sergio Miller

The controversial Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina has officially announced her decision to withdraw herself from any further participation in this year’s Miss SA beauty pageant.

The news comes just a day after the Department of Home Affairs revealed that they have done an investigation into her citizenship and discovered that her mother might be involved in fraud and obtained citizenship through identity theft.

With the 23-year-old model being the subject of widespread social media backlash, she will no longer be involved in the grand finale this Saturday.

In a heartfelt post, she thanked everyone who stood by her side and supported her in her journey, expressing how grateful she was for the love and support that was shown to her.

“Being part of the Miss South Africa 2024 competition has been an amazing journey, however, after much careful consideration, I have made the decision to withdraw myself from the competition for the safety and wellbeing of my family and I.”

“With the support of the Miss South Africa Organisation, I leave with a heart full of gratitude for this amazing experience.”

She concluded her post wishing the remaining finalists well ahead of the final that takes place at the SunBet Arena, adding that whoever wears the crown represents all South Africans.
