Thursday the 11th of April marked exactly three years since model Anele Tembe, the fiancé of slain rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes passed away.

The 22-year-old tragically died after falling from the tenth floor of a Cape Town hotel in 2021.

While so much has happened since then, the pain of losing such a young soul is something that continues to break the heart of her sister Mbali Thembe.

In an Instagram post as reported by a news publication, The South African, Mbali is still battling to come to terms with the horrendous passing of Anele affectionately known as Nelli.

In a heartfelt post, she questions the nature of her sister’s death hinting at signs which indicate that she might have been physically abused.

“We were not ready for the physical cruelty that was done to you, baby girl. There was a minute we just stood there, not knowing where to start, my God, all those pre-wounds, those cigarette burns, your lip cracked open, carpet burns, all I heard was you begging to stop.

She added: “When that punch landed on your face, did you fight back, or at that moment did you know it was over for you?”

Meanwhile, Mabli added that she prayed that her sister had no more pain after her soul left her body. She added that the family has still found no closure even three years following the tragic occurrence.

“We are tormented by South Africa, after all that evil deed, the majority chooses sides […] after all that pain, you were treated like a dog.”

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that author Melinda Ferguson will be releasing a book which focused on the tragic love story of Kiernan and Anele.

The title – When love Kills: The Tragic Tale of AKA and Anele.

Melinda added that writing this book broke her heart and nearly cost her own relationship.
