Actor Hungani Ndlovu reacts to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela’s post on Twitter stating that top tier South African actors can earn R150 000 to R200 000 a month.

“Top tier actor in South Africa can earn between R150k and R200k per month. Unfortunately, in South Africa, experience still trumps role prominence.”

“So, that margin is reserved for select actors who have been in the industry for some time. Being a lead doesn’t guarantee everybody those figures,” said Phil, according to the South African.

The Skeem Skaam actor took to social media to refute these claims, stating that actors do not earn R150 000 to R200 000 a month after deductions.

“Before Deductions”, is very important to be a part of this TITBIT,” he wrote.

Some fans reacted to his response, weighing in on the salary claims.

@Lesego_Disipi: “But if that’s the case you go home around R85k to R95k which is not bad.”

@lerrykins_: “Can you give us the top 5 in this country? My guess is Siyabonga Twala, Sindi Dlathu, Leleti Khumalo, Tony Kgoroge, Sello Maake-ka Ncube and Connie Ferguson. “

According to Briefly, it was reported that actors in South Africa can earn anywhere from R17 800 to R61 500 a month, which is marginally less than what Phil Mphela claims. The average salary for an actor is estimated to be roughly R38 700 per month.

Some of the most highest paid South African actors include the likes of Bonang Matheba, who has a net worth of $ 7 million, and Moshidi Motshegwa, who has a net worth of $ 8 million.
