Hlamalani Mavasa recently suffered from a stroke and is currently in ICU.

The actress is known for her work in Giyani – Land of Blood from 2009. However, in the most recent years, the actress has been struggling with a lot. She lost a baby and suffered from depression. According to ZiMoja, the family of Hlamalani informed the publication that she has gone through a deep depression which led to the stroke.

The actress reportedly suffered from a stroke while alone at home on Monday at midnight. She is currently in ICU, struggling to keep it together. “It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the sickness of our beloved daughter,” the Mavasa family says. The stroke has allegedly affected her abilities to speak, read and write.

Her family claims that it was the intense stress she was under during her previous relationship which led to her depression. Hlamalani’s sister, Tintswalo Mavasa, claims that Hlamalani’s ex-partner used to physically abuse her, even during her pregnancy. Her sister further claims that there is proof of the alleged abuse.

Hlamalani and her ex-partner have a child together who is currently 2 months old. “She gave birth to his child. Everything was fine, and I even registered the baby with his surname. After a few weeks, he claimed that the baby wasn’t his. He asked for the baby’s DNA and it came back 99.9%. Her baby is now two months old. Her health is bad because of him,” she said.

We can all wish Hlamalani a speedy recovery and hope that her family will be okay.
