Here is the shocking twist in the AKA murder case — the killers are coming back

Two brothers accused of orchestrating the murders of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane are expected to be extradited from the Kingdom of Eswatini to South Africa next week after abandoning their appeal against extradition.

The suspects, Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, are set to be handed over to South African authorities on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, following months of legal proceedings.

As stated by SAPS spokesperson Athlenda Mathe, all logistical arrangements for the handover have been finalised.

“The SAPS confirms that it is finalising logistical arrangements to execute the extradition order on Tuesday, 11 November 2025,” she said.

The Ndimande brothers were arrested in Eswatini in February 2024, following a joint operation between South African and Eswatini police forces. They are accused of being part of a hit squad responsible for the February 2023 killings of AKA and Tibz, who were gunned down outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban.

The suspects abandoned their appeal earlier this week, clearing the way for their immediate extradition. Athlendaconfirmed that the move follows close coordination between law enforcement agencies in both countries.

“The two suspects abandoned their extradition appeal on Monday, clearing the way for their surrender,” stated Athlenda.

The brothers face 24 charges across three separate cases, including murder, attempted murder, and unlawful possession of automatic firearms and ammunition. Their return to South Africa will see them join five other accused already in custody in connection with the double murder.

SAPS National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola has welcomed the decision by Eswatini authorities to proceed with the extradition.

“The National Commissioner takes this opportunity to thank the Eswatini authorities for their cooperation and assistance in apprehending the pair and ensuring they are brought back to answer to the crimes committed,” stated Fannie, reported IOL.

The extradition order was signed by Eswatini’s Acting Prime Minister and officially communicated to South Africa’s Department of Justice and Constitutional Development earlier this week. The Ndimande brothers are expected to make their first court appearance in KwaZulu-Natal shortly after arriving in South Africa, where they will be formally charged alongside their co-accused.
