Hennops River case updates bring about more questions

The mysterious case of Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys and Boipelo Senoge has taken the nation by storm as details of their death continue to unfold. However, citizens appear to have more questions after police positively identify the VW Polo that he officials travelled in before their death.

The Henopps River case has done nothing but confuse the public, as citizens fail to put the pieces together regarding what led to the tragic death of the three law enforcement officials. Some users have explicitly expressed that they believe that there is a more sinister truth to the case, as more details regarding the case continue to unfold.

After the bodies of the three constables were retrieved from Centurion’s Henopps River earlier this week, along with two additional bodies, the South African Police Services (SAPS) diving team returned to the river to forage for more information, including the  VW Polo that the officers were travelling in before their untimely death. After immense effort and manpower from the SAPS, the car was found and positively identified as the car the officers were travelling in to Limpopo, where they were dispatched.

Police have officially confirmed that the white VW Polo retrieved from the Hennops River belonged to the three Free State police officers who tragically lost their lives.

Although the discovery of the car would cement the theory that their deaths were the result of a horrific accident caused by the heavy rains and flooding in the area, the public is not convinced that the culprit is a car accident. These citizens have come up with various theories and speculations, including suspicions of foul play. They have posed questions such as how the officials’ bodies left the car and seats, as they assume their seatbelts were on when the accident occurred.

Doesn’t make sense at all how did the bodies leave the car ??

Based on the state of the car when it was pulled out of the river, some users have expressed that they suspect that the car might have been placed in the river after sustaining substantial damage. However, police commissioner general Fannie Masemola has stated that without the results from the autopsy, no one can say for sure what happened to the officers and what really led to their deaths.

“We can’t rule out anything, but we can’t conclusively say: ‘This is what has happened.’ Let’s give it space…For now, there’s nothing sinister that we physically have seen in terms of, let’s say, bullet shots. Of course, there are injuries, but the doctors will tell us exactly when they finalise their autopsy,” he says.
