The acting industry is still mourning the heart-wrenching death of the iconic and legendary thespian, Don Mlangeni; who once gathered mzansi in front of their screens and on theatres to witness his remarkable ability of embodying and breathing life into a character.

He has done so in celebrated characters such as Zakhe Mhlongo on Hlala Kwabafileyo, Zebedee ‘Bra Zeb’ Matabane on Isidingo: The Need, Shadrack Mokobane on The Estate and Laqhasha on S’gudi S’naysi.

This time, he will gather crowds in rather a sombre moment, as they will be cherishing his life and sharing their experiences of him on his memorial and funeral service.

The Nawa family took to his Instagram page to announce that Don who passed on at the age of 65 on the 16th of April will be remembered by his family and close friends in a memorial service at Soweto Theatre from 14h30 to 15h00 on Thursday the 24th of April 2025, and his funeral service will be held at Alberton Civic Theatre on Saturday the 26th of April at 08h00.

The family has chosen to keep his cause of death to themselves for now. They remembered him as the heart of the family and a loving person.

“He was the heart of our family- a loving father, brother and friend. To the world, he was a loved and respected actor whose presence lit up every screen and stage he graced. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely,” read the statement.
