It’s been ten long years since gospel music legend Keke real name Kekeletso Phoofolo took a break from the industry, but now he’s back and couldn’t be happier.

The acclaimed artist recently sat down with Drum to share his excitement and gratitude for the overwhelming reception he’s received from fans.

“This is great. The reception is so nice. It feels good to be back,” Keke enthused. “It’s like people have been waiting for me to come back. The gigs are booked, and it feels great recording new music again.”

Speaking to the publication Keke shared that he took a break from the music and entertainment industry to focus on rebuilding his ministry and returning to the pulpit.

He also ventured into an environmental cleaning business over the past five years. The decision stemmed from feeling overwhelmed by the demands of the industry and personal challenges, seeking a more private life away from the spotlight. Despite concerns about relevance upon his return, Keke affirms that the break was worthwhile.

After a decade of struggling with depression and the loss of his mother, gospel legend Keke is ready to move forward. The “Sefapanong ke boha” hitmaker shared his hardships and expressed gratitude for surviving even during the pandemic as reported by Daily Sun.

Keke is set to release new music inspired by conversations with God over the past few years. His latest project features 23 tracks, with 90% written by him and the remaining 10% being covers of rearranged hymns.

Keke hopes that listeners will be entertained, see the power of prayer, and experience God’s hand changing their lives. Describing the project as a heartfelt gift, he has released the tracks Finally, God is All We Need, and Resurgence, available on all platforms. He prays that everyone will be blessed by his music.
