Gogo Maweni joyful about becoming a mother again

by Sergio Miller

Mother’s Day is around the corner, and nobody is more excited about her gift than renowned podcast host and sangoma Gogo Maweni.

The media personality recently took to her Instagram page to share that her and her husband are officially expecting a baby.

Sharing the news with her followers she excitingly wrote: “Feeling fat lasts nine months, but the joy of becoming a mom again lasts forever.”

The news was well received with many of her followers taking to the comment section to congratulate her on her soon-to-be-born baby.

For Gogo, whose real name is Lee-Anne Mokopo, this is extra special especially after her and her husband had multiple setbacks in recent months when it comes to having a baby.

In an interview with news and entertainment publication TshisaLive she highlighted that she previously suffered several miscarriages.

The baby is conceived through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) which consists of a series of procedures used to help with fertility and assist with the conception of a child.

“It’s been a lot of tries. We had two embryos but lost one. So now we have this one growing and I just want to keep it to myself with no noise and no drama. I want the baby to grow.”

“When you do IVF, you keep going back and you take the medication, then the tests will come out that, you are positive. When you go through the scan you find out that there’s no heartbeat then you try again, and we tried again and now we are there.”

Aside from this. She already has three children, the first, a son from an unknown American, the second with actor Sthembiso Khoza and another with former footballer Siyabonga Zulu.
