Springbok flyhalf Elton Jantjies is making the most of his time away from the field by ensuring that the next crop of rugby players have all they need to compete at the highest level.
The former Lions playmaker has been away from the game for more than a year now. This comes after he found himself suspended after testing positive for banned substances. In January last year, he received a suspension which will come to completion by 2028. Despite this giving him every reason to call quits on his rugby career, he has now invested his time into upskilling young aspiring players through his “Game Changers” rugby programme where he holds one-on-one coaching sessions with kids as well as older players looking to refine their game.

After discovering the recent work that the World Cup winner was doing in communities, Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton Mckenzie shared a video thanking him for the work he does and offered to assist him in expanding his horizons in regards to his latest venture.
In a video shared by Elton on his Instagram page, Gayton says: “Congratulations! I am proud of you. I see what you are doing for rugby and how well you are doing with Game-Changers and giving it your all.
“Forget the nay-sayers there are always going to be those who are going to bring negativity, but you continue fighting my brother. I’m here for you, I am behind you. Let me know if you need anything. Make those stars, let rugby change the world, and you play your part,” the minister concluded.

In response Elton captioned his post: “A message from a true leader this morning was power.”
Meanwhile, the 2019 World Cup winner has not mentioned anything about retiring yet. In an episode on Behind the Ruck podcast, he mentioned that he was still continuing with training to keep his body and mind conditioned.
