Zanele van Zyl is a celebrity chef who hails from Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal. The award-winning chef has managed to turn her passion into a career and now influences the soulful meals that are enjoyed in many households across the African continent.

The Cooking with Zanele brand has not only graced many countries with its delicious recipes from its cookbooks but Zanele has also taken it upon herself to actively offer cooking lessons for those who needed the kitchen skills.

According to JetClub – a lifestyle, beauty and fashion magazine – Zanele began her culinary journey in 2012. The former IT technician discovered her passion for cooking whilst on maternity leave. “I had plenty of time on my hands and became inspired. I just wanted to try new recipes,” she shared with JetClub.

Upon discovering her passion and outstanding skills in the kitchen, Zanele sat down with her husband and the couple agreed she would not be returning to work as she would begin exploring this new passion of hers.

With the success of her cooking career, Zanele now has a total of three cookbooks to her name, namely Cooking with Zanele, Cooking with Zanele Volume 2 and her newest edition Senidlile Kodwa?

The launch of her third book has been well accepted as her provincial launch tours have been filled with nothing but laughter, heartfelt conversations and book sales.

This also became evident as she took to her Instagram to share that the sales of her new book have been going extremely well as her book has been positioned number one Best Selling Cook Book in South Africa.

Her most recent book launch took place at the Walmer Park Shopping Centre in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape Province.

The book launch was hosted by South African singer and star, Unathi Nkayi.
