It is that time of the year again when horse racing meets fashion! With many of mzansi’s prominent media personalities in attendance at the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth racecourse in Cape Town, each celeb put their own spin on this year’s theme – Cape Splendour.

The theme is a tribute to the rich racing history of the Mother City and a celebration of the glitz and glamour.

While the venue was filled with hopeful spectators, alcoholic beverages and the sounds of snapping cameras, familiar faces were also spotted in their custom garments and expensive threads.

Dressed in white and soft pink and mingling with other local celebs was none other than media personality Siv Ngesi.

Taking a break from the newsroom and living it up in the VIP section was former Carte Blanche award-winning investigative journalist Devi Sankaree Govender and Morning Live presenter Leanne Manas. While Devi opted for a bold, floral-inspired look to symbolise the Cape’s splendour, Leanne took a softer approach.

Also in attendance at the MET was Loyiso and Jennifer Bala. Jennifer stunned in a hot pink dress while her husband kept it cool in a white shirt and grey suit… not forgetting his shades.

While the celebs put their fashion foot forward, the WSB MET also gave a few designers a platform to showcase their collections. Fashion brands and designers included throughout the day were the likes of Ezoketho and Imprint with Gavin Rajah closing the show. Speaking about the theme of the MET in relation to the designs, Gavin said, “We are looking at the culture of Cape Town as the fashion capital of South Africa, and the fashion will be a showcase of that title.”
