Sma Mathibeli is undeniably a force to be reckoned with, transitioning from a successful acting career, playing Madi in the popular drama series Zone 14 to becoming a prominent businesswoman and advocate for women’s empowerment.

Her journey reflects a strategic shift towards entrepreneurship and creating meaningful content that resonates with her values.

Leaving behind a flourishing acting career wasn’t an easy decision, but Sma’s determination to forge her path in content creation and business speaks volumes about her courage and vision. Her dedication to authenticity and staying true to herself, despite critics’ doubts, is admirable.

In an interview with Move, Sma revealed, “I resigned and there were people who thought I was crazy for wanting to leave that role,” After Madi departed from the show, radio presented a new opportunity, and she eagerly embraced it.

Together with her husband, Calvin, Sma has built a diverse portfolio of businesses spanning various industries, earning them recognition on prestigious platforms like Forbes.

“When I met him, he was already in business; we decided to merge and see what we could build.”

According to the Thriving Network, under the leadership of both Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Sma Mathibeli, the company has achieved remarkable recognition, including:

  • Recognition as National Entrepreneur Champions (NBC South Africa)
  • Acknowledgement for Fast Growth at the 14 National Business Awards
  • Award for Top Young Executive Entrepreneur at the 14 National Awards
  • Recognition as a Fast Growth Black-owned SMME at the Empowerment Awards 2017
  • Placement in the National Top 20 Companies by NBC South Africa
