There seems to be a gleam of hope for internet users as the five accused in the murder case of the late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend, chef entrepreneur Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were denied bail.

The application for bail was heard at Durban Magistrate’s Court by magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo. The men were denied bail with the magistrate saying it would be ‘reckless’ and ‘irresponsible’ to release the applicants out on bail.

AKA and Tibz were shot dead outside the now discontinued Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban, in February 2023.

According to police reports, the accused targeted AKA while Tibz was collateral damage.

The accused: Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, (30); Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, (35); Siyanda Eddie Myeza, (21); Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, (36) and 29-year-old Lindokuhle Ndimande have been charged with double murder amongst other charges; but all have pleaded not guilty.

The accused are expected to remain in the Westville Correctional Centre in Durban until their next court appearance.

This is what they deserve for what they did to our superstar

They need to rot in jail.

I looks like we gonna get justice for #AKA sooner than we thought? We are led in KZN??. The #KZN investigating team and the sitting Judge are doing a sterling job so far unlike the #SenzoMeyiwatrial where the case is cooked and rotten to the core from Investigating Officers to… pic.twitter.com/smFA5YZqxc
