Sports superfan Joy ‘Mama Joy’ Chauke had quite a few eyebrows raised after she showed her public support for South African Football Association (SAFA) President Danny Jordaan, who the Hawks are reportedly investigating for theft and fraud.

According to City Press, as reported by The Citizen, the Hawks conducted a raid on the SAFA House.

A statement read, “The allegations are that, between 2014 and 2018, the president of SAFA used the organisation’s resources for his personal gain, including hiring a private security company for his personal protection and a public relations company, without authorisation from the SAFA board.”

The statement further read that Danny allegedly “violated SAFA statutes, thus prejudicing SAFA an actual loss of R1.3 million.” The raid resulted in a laptop, external hard drives, a USB, and documents being seized.

Despite the allegations Danny currently faces, this does not stop Mama Joy from showing her unwavering support.

Taking to X (the app formerly known as Twitter), the sports fanatic shared a selfie she once took with Danny, captioning the post, “Hands off Dr Jordaan.”

The controversial post was followed by another. This time, Mama Joy addressed the accused, saying, “Please my President Dr Jordaan, don’t even think of resigning. Finish your term with dignity. Thanks for reviving Bafana and Banyana. Please don’t go. @SAFA_net @BafanaBafana @Banyana_Banyana, I enjoy watching them.”
