‘Fear can be disabling’ – Somizi motivates people to face their fears

Many of us can agree that Somizi should probably start thinking of starting his own podcast with the amount of humour and insight he has. While his Instagram feed is quite fun, interactive, and glamourous we cannot take away the fact that many of his videos possess the ability to either make people laugh or contain profound advice that people can use and learn from.

Somizi Mhlongo is a multitalented South African media personality as well as a Sompire clothing brand CEO. The flamboyant media personality and mogul is admired by many South Africans for his bubbly personality and outspoken character.

Yesterday, Somizi took to social media to motivate many to not back off their fears. As the setting of the video takes place in his bathroom, Somizi welcomes his listeners to what he labels as “bathroom talks with Somizi.”

Introducing the video, Somizi explains that he drew inspiration from another video that he had come across on Instagram that spoke on how fear can be cropping and disabling. Trying to recall the profound message that he had heard, he said “God gives you a Goliath – a giant. In the Bible it says the giant that David conquered was not meant for him, it was meant for someone else, but that person was so scared that God took that giant and gave it to someone else – David.”

Further explaining his Biblical reference, he continued to explain, “David ran with it and David was fearless and he was faithful, and he killed the giant. So basically, in this real life what it means is that God gives each and every one of us our own giants,” he concluded.
