There seems to be a gleam of hope for the Chauke family as their son and rapper Lehlogonolo Chauke, popular as Shebeshxt wakes up from a coma after a horror car accident that took the life of his 9-year-old daughter, Onthatile Chuene and leaves him with severe injuries.

In an interview with the entertainment publication, TshisaLIVE, family spokesperson James Magoro revealed that Shebeshxt has been under the knife for his leg and shoulder surgeries.

Speaking to the publication, James said they hoped Shebeshxt would be fit to attend his daughter’s funeral on Saturday at Lebowakgomo, in Limpopo.

“He is still in hospital but will attend the funeral. We are looking to maybe have people from the hospital assist in bringing him to the funeral and then take him back to the hospital to recover. He still needs to fully recover. He had dislocations. On one of his legs, they fitted still and a moon boot. The leg is ok, he can step with both legs,” said James.

Still speaking to the publication, James said even though the family did not speak to the rapper about the loss of his daughter, he was aware she had not survived the accident.

“We can’t talk to him about his loss because we understand, but he can see his child is not around any more and his partner got hurt. He asked about Kholo’s whereabouts but did not ask about the child because he knows the child did not make it,” he added.

According to The Citizen, the tragic incident took place on Saturday, on the R37 road alongside Smelters Mine, in Limpopo. The musician was en route to perform at an ANC Siyanqoba Rally concert, in Lebowakgomo.
