After winning his first World Cup in 2019, Springbok scrum-half Faf de Klerk’s celebration attire took the internet by storm – now he has taken things to the next level by officially launching his swimwear line called Faffies.

In recent weeks Faf has been very candid about a new project he is working on ahead of the latest international rugby season; however, few would have predicted what this project was until recently when the 32-year-old took to social media to launch his first-ever swimwear line – briefs in the colours of the South African national flag.

Taking to Instagram, he made an official announcement.

“Happy Youth Day South Africa! Yesterday we launched Faffies, and today we are excited to reveal our kids’ swimwear briefs!”

“Let’s celebrate our future leaders with Faffies.”

The SA flag-coloured trunks become a popular outfit for local rugby lovers over the last few years. This comes after footage emerged showing Faf wearing the now popular speedo when welcoming Prince Harry into the Springbok change rooms after the 2019 grand final in Japan.

Later it went on to become his signature trait. He even went on to wear the briefs at the 2023 victory parade after returning home with a second consecutive World Cup victory – this has ultimately spurred a trend that led to many more Springbok supporters joining in on the fun.

Faffies is said to cater to men of all sizes and age groups and come in several different designs. Those looking to get their hands on a few of the items can do so in July, just in time for the Springbok matches against Ireland.
