The 32-year-old rugby player, who recently joined his new team Agen in France, was involved in an alleged cheating scandal with Bok team dietitian Zeenat Simjee, which she has denied.
According to News24, the Springbok flyhalf admitted to his wife in November that he had been involved with Simjee for several months.
What is interesting though is that Elton recently shared a post on his Instagram of him and his wife in an embracing pose a month ago. Four weeks later, Elton wife, Iva Ristic spoke to local publication The South African and confirmed that her divorce from Elton would be finalized after the holiday season.
Iva is currently living in Turkey with their three children, she said they were on “great terms” and parting as “friends”. She told the publication that they plan to co-parent their children.
The publication reported that Iva said: “Elton is doing really well. We are on great terms, we talk every day. I am still his biggest supporter, and he is mine. She added: “Yes, we are going formalize our divorce very soon. It’s been a chaotic period for both of us moving countries, but after the holidays will definitely focus more on that.”
Elton has had a really tough year both professionally and personally. He missed out on playing for the national team at the Rugby tests this year in France amid his cheating allegations. His alleged mistress, Springbok dietician, Zeenat Simjee has continued to deny the allegation that they had an affair.
