Popular local drama Scandal which aires on the broadcasting channel eTV at 19h30 every weekday is said to be taking the Saturday and Sunday slots too, airing episodes from Monday to Sunday.

Scandal is one of the most successful and loved soapies in South Africa, having had talents such as Thuso Mbedu, Masasa Mbangeni, Hlomla Dandala, Rami Chuene, and many other actors, the soon-to-be 20-year-old drama series keeps growing.

The half an hour drama series which airs its omnibus on Saturdays is defined as, “a true melting pot of South African life depicted through the heightened and entertaining genre of soap in which its villains and heroes play out the complex twists and turns of their lives in their home, business and recreational environments,” according to its website.

Announcing that the soapie would be airing every day, Scandal’s social media page shared, “Scandal! is coming to your screen 7 days a week.”

This got many soapie lovers conflicted as they took to the comment section to share:

Will there be five new episodes and two reruns or seven new episodes🤷🏿‍♂️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I need to know, so I can figure out the time, I’m on a different time zone.

Another user had a suggestion commenting:

How about making it available for international audiences first….
