Platinum-selling and award-winning Soul artist, Donald, together with much-loved award-winning Singer-Songwriter, Amanda Black have seamlessly teamed up on an emotionally-charged love ballad titled ‘Amanga’.

Amanga, translated as “lies” in English, is the core theme of the song and dominates the hook as well as the overall mood and feel, taking the listener into a deep dive of both feelings and reaction.

The song sees Donald singing to his lover (Amanda) and expressing his dissatisfaction about where their relationship has ended up, due to her being untruthful. The first verse delves into the promises she made to him but has failed to deliver, while the overall scenes are boldly confrontational – which can be seen in the argument that ensues as Amanda comes into her verse to respond from her perspective.

Amanda brings a different feel to her verse, as she tries to protect her position and how the fall of the relationship has impacted her. She aims to prove the relationship has failed because of both parties, and not just her.

The back and forth from both Donald and Amanda makes for an entertaining sonic. The relatability of the subject is the main thing that wins on this beautiful love song, as almost anyone can find a version of themselves in the unpredictable storyline.

“Amanga is a beautiful body of work that Amanda and I have created through a love song that every music-lover can relate to – we wanted to truly show all sides of a relationship and the work that is put in. The song has been receiving a lot of love and support from the fans and we just want to take this opportunity to say thank you”, happily expresses Donald.

Amanga is the first single off of Donald’s latest 3-track EP offering titled ‘Close The Door On Your Way Out’. The EP is a body of work that lists the songs ‘Amanga’, ‘Awunandaba Nam’ and ‘Ngikhulule’.

With currently over 282K views on YouTube and over 2 million social media impressions, Amanga is the true making of an everyday love song and radio anthem during the month of love and beyond.
