DJ Zinhle reveals AKA’s death strengthened family ahead of her reality show

by Staff Bona

South African musician and reality star DJ Zinhle revealed earlier this month that her reality show, The Unexpected was renewed for a third season.

The show will premiere on Saturday 30 September on DSTV channel 129 (BET Africa) and will feature insights into Zinhle’s private life behind-the-scenes. She posted a trailer for the upcoming season where she speaks about being a wife to Morda and it seems as if the new season promises drama.

“It’s finally happening! Please save the date.. #TheUnexpected is back!!!”

Zinhle said that a lot will unfold in the new season, and her fame has given fans more access to her, The Citizen reported.

“In past seasons, we had a mix of family, work, and many other things. You will still see all the other elements, but this time around, I feel like everything gets tied back to the centre of the family.” she said.

Filming took place around the time of AKA’s death, which must have been very difficult for her daughter Kairo, whom she shares with the late rapper. She also shared a snippet of a conversation she had with Lynn Forbes, AKA’s mother.

“The passing of Kiernan [Forbes] has made us so aware of how important family is. So, we make sure we spend time and feel the love as family.”

Zinhle said her role as a mother changed after Asante’s birth but also said her family, especially her husband, gives her tremendous support.

“When I was a mother of one, I had a driver. I was living my best life, but as a mother of two, life has become expensive and demanding. I drive myself full-time now. As a wife, I have a very supportive husband. We love each other a lot, and he makes my role as a wife easy.”
