Even South Africa’s most admired couples have their rough days. DJ Zinhle reminded her followers of this truth when she revealed that she and her husband, Murdah Bongz, had recently fallen out. But what made headlines was not the fight itself; it was how Murdah made amends.

From silent treatment to sweet gesture

Speaking in a TikTok video, Zinhle admitted that she and Murdah were not on talking terms after a disagreement. Without going into detail about what caused the tension, she explained that he eventually found a simple yet thoughtful way to get back into her good books.

When he returned from Soshanguve, Murdah brought back her favourite snacks. It may not have been diamonds or a designer bag, but for Zinhle, it was exactly what mattered. “Bestie, so I wasn’t talking to Murda. He did something silly the other day. But today he came back strong to make sure that I forgive him. He went to Soshanguve and brought this back for me. Uh, what a guy. What a guy,” she shared, laughing.

Fans can’t get enough

Mzansi found the story hilarious and surprisingly relatable. One follower joked that Murdah is a “smooth operator,” while another teased that Zinhle was “weak” for forgiving so quickly over chips. Many admitted they too would forgive their partners if food was involved.

Others admired the bond the two share, pointing out that it is not always about big romantic gestures but knowing the small things that matter to your partner.

More than flashy gifts

Zinhle is no stranger to receiving extravagant presents from her husband; for her 42nd birthday, he gave her a painting, and for his 37th, she returned the favour with a vintage car. But her latest post was a reminder that intimacy is built on everyday thoughtfulness.

Fans praised the couple for showing that love can be light-hearted and down-to-earth, even for celebrities. In a culture where high-profile couples often flaunt only the glamorous side of life, Zinhle’s story resonated with many South Africans who saw their own relationships reflected in hers.
