DJ Tira sets the tone ahead of Durban July

by Sergio Miller

Award-winning musician Dj Tira is ready to get the ball rolling as he sets the tone ahead of the eagerly anticipated Durban July.

The event is an important one of the South African entertainment calendars and sees celebrities from all walks of life, including, actors, musicians, sportsmen and women as well as several media personalities in attendance at the popular horse racing competition.

As usual, it is never an event without Tira making his presence felt. This year the Won’t Let Go hitmaker is set to host the Afrotainment Marquee at the Durban July for the 13th year.

The musician whose real name his Mthokozisi Khathi recently held a photoshoot inviting several celebs to be a part of the occasion.

In a brief interview posted on X (formerly Twitter) he said: “We are letting the public know that we’re back this year for another installment of the Afrotainment Marquee at the Durban July.”

Some of the celebs joining him at the premium event include his wife Gugu Khathi, Big Brother Mzansi contestant Liema, actors Vuyo Biyela and Wiseman Mncube, Zari Hassan as well as the singers Cici and Mawhoo.

The theme for this year will be “Ride the Wave.”

Meanwhile, he added that the Marquee shoot is merely setting the tone for what will happen at the event.
