Music mogul DJ Tira is gearing up to set the stage on fire at the Afrotainment Marquee during the upcoming Hollywoodbets Durban July.
In a recent interview with Timeslive, Tira shared his excitement and outlined what attendees can expect from this year’s festival.
“When we launch, we want to launch in a big way,” Tira said.
“We need people to understand that we are launching in a big way hence the people who are part of the Afrotainment marquee this year are people who are making waves as this year’s theme is ‘Ride the Wave’ so we will be giving people a good time.”

The Afrotainment Marquee has always been a glamorous event and this year is no exception. With 13 years of hosting under his belt, DJ Tira is no stranger to the Durban July scene.
Speaking to Timeslive, Tira emphasised the importance of picking a lineup that resonates with the theme and captivates the audience.
“Liema has a super following, so we definitely made it a point to have her as part of our Durban July line-up, with Wiseman Ncube, Vuyo […] Cici and Mawhoo, who are some of the best vocalists that we have in the country, definitely add a flavour. We always go for the best. We’ve got the A-listers.”
Supported by African Bank and Blue Voucher as confirmed partners, Tira promises an unforgettable experience on July 6th. The marquee is set to accommodate around 500 guests, with a carefully crafted blend of ticket buyers and invited VIPs.The ticket options range from R5 000 to R6 500, offering attendees access to either the VVIP area upstairs or the garden area downstairs.
After the main event, the party continues at Fact Durban Rocks, where Tira promises an electrifying after-party experience.
