DJ Tira breaks silence on ‘sexual allegations’ levelled against him

by Zintle Mdaka

Mthokozisi Khathi popularly known as DJ Tira has responded with a letter from his attorneys on the ‘sexual’ allegations that were levelled against him by former Idols SA contestant and musician, Luke Ntombela.

The letter orders Luke to “cease false and defamatory allegations against DJ Tira, Afrotainment enterprise, and his brand”. The letter further instructs the musician to publish a retraction of the allegations against the media personality and entrepreneur through the same social media and must conduct a radio interview on Ukhozi FM to retract the interview she conducted with the radio station, and lastly to offer an unconditional apology within seven days from today.

Luke had shared screenshots on various social media platforms alleging that she was intoxicated to the point of blackout when she woke up next to DJ Tira with no memory of what happened the night before. The artist posted on Facebook alluding that the prominent DJ continued touching her inappropriately despite her objections when she woke up the next day.

In a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between the duo, Luke told DJ Tira that she needed closure and healing, and asked him to refresh her memory and tell her what happened that night; or she would share the incident and how she remembers it.

X (formerly Twitter) users shared their views on the comment section of DJ Tira’s post:

Speaking on behalf of the whole country and whole Africa we believe you’re innocent the baddie just wanted attention since she’s been trying to be recognized for years pic.twitter.com/fXrT5DCDF0

I believe you Makoya. I had no idea that social media and radio stations were now police stations to report cases until that lady did so…

How did the lady end up waking up next to you? I am not suggesting that there is something wrong you did but it would be a good idea to inform the people as how did it happen that you woke up next to each other and you’re not dating.
