Musician DJ Tira recently admitted that he no longer feels safe attending events.

According to the South African, the award-winning musician and record label boss Mthokozisi “DJ Tira” Khathi has voiced that he is now terrified and living in fear following the murders of his fellow musicians. He claims that he even stopped attending some events as a result.

According to the Daily Sun, DJ Tira expressed that he will only accept bookings if there are extreme safety measures in place to guarantee his safety.

This fear of his came about following the death of his friend and rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. AKA was shot dead outside of a restaurant in Durban earlier this year.

“You don’t know what can happen anywhere. I check my safety first when I get booked, and where I don’t feel safe, I don’t go. At the moment, I’m putting my safety first until the situation gets back to normal. Who knew that someone would be killed on a Florida road? The popular and busiest road in Durban? And just like that, someone was shot dead,” DJ Tira said.

The record label boss wishes for these murders to end and urges the South African public and government to work together to end these brutal killings.

“All people need protection from the killings, not only celebs,” he further claims.

DJ Tira is apparently not the only one living in fear. Other celebrities like Casper Nyovest have reportedly also taken extra protocols when it comes to their safety.
