DJ and TV personality Lesego Nkaitseng has been responsible for many classic hits with South Africans bopping back and forth.

Although music has been the focal point of his career, Speedsta has admitted that he has had a deep passion for skateboarding since a young age, so much so that he believed he would pursue it as a career instead. The artist has taken a significant step in returning to his passion for skateboarding, recently launching ‘Brothers’, a company that sells skateboards.

Taking to his Instagram, Speedsta narrated his journey with skateboarding, noting that he had ambitions of going pro when he was younger.

“All I ever wanted to do as a kid was skate! Skate every day in the hopes of becoming a pro one day. Things didn’t turn out that way,” the TV personality says in a reflective post.

Upon realising that he would not go pro, Speedsta still wanted to make a contribution and give back to the South African skating community, which was when he established ‘The SkateHub ‘, the first black-owned skate park in the country, which is situated in Marlboro.

In the same year, he and his business partner Joshua, who goes by Hypeman Spice worked towards a skateboard brand, however, they encountered a few challenges that set them back plenty but did not deter them. ”

“I called @hypemanspice and told him I wanna start a skate brand with him. We started putting all the pieces together, Our boards finally arrived in 2022, and then we got robbed of 230 skateboards by our supplier. 2023 was a difficult one for us. But we kept going !!” Speedsta narrates.

This venture is a classic tale of perseverance despite life’s challenges and hurdles.
