Dj NV Funk retires from the music industry

After a decade in the game, well-known DJ, artist, and designer Nathan Van Dalen, popularly known as DJ NV Funk announces his departure from the music industry.

According to entertainment publication, ZiMoja, the Cape Town artist who began his career in 2012 took to his socials to announce his retirement from DJing.

In a lengthy press release on Instagram, DJ NV Funk said, “After a decade of dedication to this industry, I – Nathan Van Dalen, known professionally as NV Funk, am officially announcing my retirement, effective immediately.

“The decision, though emotional, is driven by my desire to fully follow Jesus Christ, as I reflect on this remarkable journey, I am filled with immense gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had locally, nationally, and internationally. To my team, thank you for your love, support, and the countless moments of shared success. It has been an honour to be part of such a dynamic and talented team.”

He further explained his reasons for this sudden change, adding how God has called him into embarking on a new journey within his faith, later thanking everyone who their support during this time.

DJ NV Funk would not be the first person to embark on his spiritual journey as many artists have left the industry to focus on their faith.

DJ NV Funk took to his Instagram with the caption, “Today I got baptised and my life will never be the same. I surrender all to you Lord Jesus. Matthew 3v16.”

Many Instagram users took to the comment section to congratulate the DJ on his new path.

One user commented: “So excited to see your journey ahead. God is so good!!”
