Good Hope FM presenter and former Metro FM DJ Khanya ‘Kyeezi’ Siyengo was involved in a serious car accident in Cape Town in a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the South African broadcasting community, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The incident occurred when another driver allegedly ran a red traffic light, resulting in a collision that obliterated Kyeezi’s vehicle and left his assailant fleeing the scene.

Kyeezi has since shared that the man responsible for the accident was identified as Michael Jamiu, a Nigerian national believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

According to reports, Jamiu was driving a luxurious Mercedes Maybach, while Kyeezi was behind the wheel of his BMW 420i. Despite the potentially catastrophic circumstances, Kyeezi emerged from the ordeal with no serious physical injuries.

However, the emotional toll of the accident has weighed heavily on the broadcaster, who expressed feeling shaken after the collision. “I am currently taking time to process the emotional impact of this accident,” Kyeezi stated, grateful for the support of his family during this difficult period.

In a curious turn of events, as Jamiu fled the scene, he left behind a number of personal belongings, including his bag and passport, which may aid authorities in tracking him down.

Kyeezi described the dramatic escape as Jamiu abandoned his damaged vehicle in an attempt to evade responsibility, quickly slipping away in another car.

The collision inflicted significant damage on Kyeezi’s car, highlighting the severity of the impact.

In the wake of the accident, the popular radio DJ has expressed his regret to his clients, partners, and supporters for any engagements he may miss over the weekend, a testament to his commitment to his work as he navigates this personal crisis.

Kyeezi’s team has requested privacy as he focuses on regaining his mental well-being and taking the necessary time to heal from this traumatic experience.
