DJ Chymamusique Walks Again, Shares Emotional Healing Update

“One Step at a Time”

From lying in hospital to posting a video walking with a frame: that’s the journey DJ Chymamusique is inviting us into. The Limpopo-born DJ, who was severely injured in a car crash that claimed the life of fellow DJ Poizen, recently shared a powerful moment on social media. He’s moving forward, physically and mentally.

In his video, he uses a walker and wears moon boots. He captions it simply but with gratitude: “Healing journey. One week at a time, ke leboga lerato le support” (I thank you all for the love and support).

The Accident That Changed Everything

The incident occurred while he and DJ Poizen were returning from a gig. Tragically, Poizen didn’t survive. Chymamusique spent time in intensive care and hospital wards and was disconnected from normal routines while he healed.

Over the past weeks, he’s been gradually updating his fans, not just with images but with glimpses of movement, mood, and mindset. His recovery has become a shared chapter with those who follow his music.

A Nation Watches, Comforts, Supports

On X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, comments pour in. Supporters offer prayers, jokes, and even advice about adjusting his walking frame. One fan gently suggested matches to his height. Another mused that perhaps removing pyjamas might speed his recovery (a playful nod to old healing theories).

Some expressed relief: “I love how you are updating us with your healing journey… it’s a reminder that someone else is going through it, too.” Others said they would step back from posting if it helped him rest, but Chymamusique replied that interacting is part of his normal routine. It keeps him grounded.

More Than Just Physical Healing

His journey is not only about regaining mobility. It’s also about reclaiming voice, space, and purpose in public life. He’s transparent about frustration, pain, and what he’s learning about life when everything changes in an instant.

In earlier posts, he has encouraged fans to cherish where they are in life. Through his recovery posts, Chymamusique has reminded fans how fragile life can be and how gratitude plays a big role in healing.

Why This Moment Matters

When a star shares vulnerability, fans lean in. In South Africa, where mental health and recovery conversations often happen in whispers, a public figure walking, literally, through this space is meaningful.

Chymamusique’s transparency reminds us that healing is nonnegotiable but also uneven. You take a step, then rest. You smile, then cry. What counts is not how fast you cross the finish line, but how you navigate each footfall, each breath.
