Popular sangoma Makgotso Mofokeng, known more famously as Gogo Maweni has struck again as she makes headlines for allegedly threatening her husband’s sidechick with witchcraft.

The year 2025 has already been an eventful year for Gogo Maweni, as it has been characterised by an extremely public feud with fellow sangoma Gogo Skhotheni, as well as a few court appearances for assault charges related to a 2019 incident.

The term ‘when it rains, it pours’ appears to accurately describe the traditional healer’s current predicament as a voicenote where she reportedly urges her husband to cut ties with his side-chick is currently making waves on social media. In the voicenote, Maweni can be heard threatening the woman with witchcraft should she fail to adhere to their request, as she goes to the extent of mentioning that she knows where the unknown woman lives.

Gogo Maweni can be heard telling her husband Sabelo what to say to the woman, and goes on to insult the woman, referring to her as a rat and a piece of sh*t. The popular sangoma also claims that if Sabelo wants her to perform witchcraft on the woman, she can do so.

“Tell her that you don’t want to be with her, you don’t want to see her and I have her f*cking address okay? … and whatever you guys were doing together is over,” the voicenote says.

Without disclosing names, controversial TikToker Matthew Lani joined in on the chat, who alleges that Sabelo cheated on Gogo Maweni to the extent of having a child outside of their marriage.
