UFC fighter Dricus du Plessis’s historic win against Sean Strickland had many South Africans sending the middleweight world champion congratulatory messages, including Mzansi’s “I Feel Good Kid,” Desmond Koolen.

Although Dricus battled Sean in the Octagon at the Scotiabank Arena in Ontario, Canada, on Sunday morning, the hype for the match was evident throughout the weekend.

Sending his well wishes the day before, Desmond shared his own video on social media, sending a message to the champ: “Hey Dricus… Good luck in your UFC fight. And you must kick box the way you kick box because that’s what you do,” he advised Dricus.

He ended the adorable video by telling Dricus to bring home the title while adding, “Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie (They don’t know what we know),” a popular phrase used by both Dricus and Springbok players.

Desmond gained popularity after his mother, Adele Koolen, uploaded a video of her son on TikTok singing I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown at his school performance. Since then, Desmond was afforded the opportunity to meet the Springboks, Trevor Noah, and many other local media personalities.
