Lula Odiba real name Keletso Lula Modiba, daughter of the late legendary radio icon Eddie Zondi, has disclosed that she was terminated from her TV job via SMS.

Lula Odiba shared with her listeners that she was dismissed from her role at Channel O’s Groove via SMS. Lula Odiba, the main presenter on the channel, revealed that she was informed of her firing due to budget constraints. On her show, she expressed disappointment over the lack of a more personal notification, stating that a phone call or email would have been more appropriate as reported by ZiMOJA.

Lula Odiba confirmed to the publication that she was fired via SMS, but chose not to discuss the details further. She mentioned that her manager advised her to refrain from commenting more on the issue.

According to IOL, Lula Odiba had previously announced in June that she would be leaving her role at Y (formerly YFM) after 5 years to join 5FM. At 5FM, she now hosts 5 Lunch on weekdays and the new 5 Hip-Hop Nights on Sundays. Despite the recent setback, Lula Odiba continues to advance her career.

Lula Odiba’s father Eddie Makhosonke Zondi was a celebrated South African radio personality known for his soulful music. He was famous for his show The Romantic Repertoire on Metro FM, as well as his well-received Sunday Soul sessions. He released several popular compilation albums such as Zondi’s Romantic Ballads throughout his career.
