Cwecwe’s mom shares new information regarding child’s case

by Silindokuhle Booi

New findings and developments on Cwecwe’s case (a 7- year-old girl that was sexually assaulted at school) shock me everyday.

While we as a country are still standing with the family of Cwecwe in seeking justice, it still feels like the South African justice system is not budging.

The story broke last year November, shortly after the incident occurred, it then caught the public’s eye recently where national marches were held in order to seek justice for her yet no one has been arrested.

Like any mother would, Cwecwe’s mom is standing firm and determined, and is still fighting for her child’s justice. She has turned her Facebook account into her personal journal where she details everything from the case updates to concerns and feelings.

Recently, she shared that her daughter’s tracksuit that she was wearing on the day of the incident had come back, what puzzled her is that the part that was covered with blood was cut out of the tracksuit.

Her posts leading to the revelation that shocked her supporters were prayers that the tracksuit does not come back washed as it was taken for tests.

Cwecwe’s mom has been vocal about her fears of the justice system trying to destroy any evidence there is regarding her child’s case.

Her supporters flooded her comment section with concerned messages whilst others hoped that she took a before picture of the tracksuit as evidence because they might come up with a story.

Some emphasised that the country needs to come together and make sure to fight for justice.
