Customer’s skopo meal raises eyebrows

Skopo or human skull? This was the dilemma that two locals from Tzaneen in the Limpopo province had to sit with following what should have been a good day out.

Skopo is a delicacy also referred to as “smiley”. The meal consists of a goat, sheep, or cow head. According to Food&Home, it is a dish that has become popular amongst Zulu taxi drivers and is often found at most taxi ranks or township shops.

However, when two men from Tzaneen visited a local store that serves the dish, they received something they did not expect.

In a video posted on the social media platform, TikTok, the two gentlemen can be heard ranting after a skopo meal they ordered at the local restaurant resembles a human skull.

Ironically, despite being unsure, the pair appeared to be so hungry that they proceeded to finish most of the meat off the “skull” until all that was left was bone. The shocking image on their plate immediately stunned them.

Thus far, the video has already claimed over 17 000 reactions, 1 200 comments, and saved nearly 2000 times.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Mzansi were amused by the reaction of the two. In one part of the video one of the guys even mentioned that it smelled like camphor lotion.

One user, also from Tzaneen says that she has never had an experience like that before.

“Forensics will never solve this case of missing person???,” Another user wrote.

A third person added: “????? Can’t stop laughing ???????”

Meanwhile, the rest of the people in the comment section were more amused by the reaction of the two voices heard in the video than by the footage itself.

“You can’t tell me Pedi people aren’t funny?,” another user commented.
